To the sangat who watched, listened, shared, and kept coming back for over twenty years — thank you.

SikhRoots began as a small effort to make Gurbani kirtan, katha, dhadhi and kavishri easier to find and easier to share. Long before live internet broadcasts existed, this meant travelling to smagams across the UK and around the world, recording them myself, and uploading them so that sangat who couldn't be there in person could still listen. At a time when other websites were charging people for access to kirtan, SikhRoots stayed free — because Gurbani was never meant to come with a price tag.

What it became was only possible because of you — the sangat who sent in recordings, requested keertan you couldn't find anywhere else, corrected our mistakes, and told others where to look. Two decades of seva have passed, and the time has come to close this chapter of the website.

This has never really been about a website. It has been about Gurbani reaching whoever needed to hear it, whenever they needed to hear it. That will continue, in other forms and other hands, long after this page is gone.
